Sam Sun Dong Yao, Ph.D.

Sam Sun Dong Yao set up Two Best Innovation & Intellectual Property Pte Ltd. Since 2017, it has become a major Singaporean player in management consultancy services plus brokerage and consultancy services of intellectual property assets. Two Best International Group was established in 2019, to provide public relations consulting. Both companies are part of Two Best Automation & Computer Pte Ltd, a successful computer software and related hardware development firm based in Singapore since 2002. Sam also brought in capital from Singapore to invest in a Chinese software company in Beijing that produced the product “Dongfang Weishi”, one of the top four anti-virus software offerings in China. His joint venture company in China produces electronic lock systems for organizations around the world. Sam has served as an advisor of the Bambu Fund LLC since 2017.

Sam is a highly-awarded entrepreneur in Singapore and China with several technology related patents that have been applied in different countries. He is published in a variety of fields with works in books, technical journals, academic articles and public interest editorials. Clients of his joint venture companies include Peking University in Beijing, China; Shanghai Jiao Tong University in Shanghai, China; National Taiwan University in Taipei, Taiwan; University of Leeds in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England; University of Birmingham in Edgbaston, Birmingham, United Kingdom; Shangri-La Hotels; Kempinski Hotels; Atlantic Italia in Italy; and the Palais-Royal Theatre in Paris, France.

An automation engineer by training, Sam was awarded a Ph.D. in Intellectual Property Law from Renmin University in Beijing, China. He earned an LL.M. in Chinese Civil and Commercial Law from Renmin University of China Law School and is an Academic Master’s degree holder in Intellectual Property Law from Peking University. Sam was a student in LL.B. courses at the University of London in Singapore. Fluent in Mandarin, English and intermediate Japanese, Sam earned his first degree from Hohai University in Jiang Su province, China.
