Marcia L. Dyson

Marcia L. Dyson is the founder of the Women’s Global Institute Trade Bureau (WGITB), a global network of women entrepreneurs growing their businesses by creating international, strategic partnerships through profitable, purposeful social engagement. Miss Dyson initially founded and served as the CEO of the Women’s Global Initiative before refocusing and rebranding the entity into the WGITB in 2024. She has served as the first chief of staff for Operation Push International Trade Bureau and executed multi-country conferences and conventions around discussions of trade, foreign policy, economic development and education. She served as the public information officer (PIO) for the Mayor's Office of Special Events for the City of Chicago. Dyson was senior vice president of R. J. Dale Advertising and Public Relations and senior manager for Margie Korshak Associates. Marcia has served as an advisor of the Bambu Fund LLC since 2017, became a senior advisor in 2021 and joined Bambu’s board of directors in 2023.

Through her work, Marcia addresses the interlocking and converging interests and issues that define her vocation: gender inequality and oppression; economic just governance; political inequity; moral marketing and branding; and local, national, and international affairs. She has been a contributor to Essence magazine, The Grio, The Root and The Huffington Post online media.

Marcia is a member of many organizations, including the Women’s Global Summit Leadership board; the Black Women's Round Table, a liaison to the White House on female concerns and social justice; board member of the Middle East Peace Working Group, creating a conversation between Israeli and Palestinians for the resolution of conflict; ambassador for Ladies First Africa; liaison for the African Ambassadors Spousal Association in DC; board member of ColorComm, a group of career women in areas of marketing and communication; council member of Impact! advising Naila Chowdry who was instrumental in Yunus Muhammad winning a Nobel Peace Prize for founding the Grameen Bank; top advisor to Women’s Entrepreneur Day hosted at the United Nations to promote women in business in 144 countries; council member of the United Nations Women; providing assistance to NASDAQ with their global community event Aspire!; executive advisor and consultant to the Conference of Black Mayors whose global outreach has created greater democracies in Africa, the Caribbean and South America; and former consultant to the Clinton Foundation for the Interim Haiti Reconstruction Commission.

Marcia holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Illinois and completed the University of Chicago Executive Program in Business Management.
