Haldane Davies, Ph.D.

Haldane Davies, Ph.D. is a highly accomplished and results-driven professional with a distinguished career in higher education administration, leadership, business development and innovation, academic and corporate consulting, research, and teaching. With his impressive track record of success, expertise in strategic planning and leadership, and commitment to excellence, Dr. Haldane Davies is a highly sought-after professional in the field of higher education and organizational development. He is a seasoned strategic planner, certified mediator, PULSE practitioner, trainer, accreditation evaluator, and competency assessor. In addition, Haldane has effective multi-million dollar grants and contract acquisition capabilities. Dr. Davies joined the board of directors of the Bambu Fund LLC in 2023.

With a focus on driving success and growth, Dr. Davies most recently served as President of the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean (UCC) and previously held the position of Vice President for Business Development and Innovation at the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI). Throughout his career, Dr. Davies has achieved remarkable success in various leadership roles. As Executive Director of the Foundation for the University of the Virgin Islands (FUVI), he led the growth of assets by an impressive 42% in one year, increased annual grants and contributions to the university, and achieved a remarkable 19.2% annual return on invested assets in 2014. Under his leadership, FUVI experienced exponential growth, with assets increasing from $18M in 2012 to $87M in 2021, delivering an outstanding annual return of 22.1%. Notably, UVI received its largest grant of $33M in 2019 under Dr. Davies' leadership.

In his role as President of UCC, Dr. Davies demonstrated exceptional leadership, spearheading notable accomplishments in academic, economic, financial, operational, and strategic planning. He expanded the institution's footprint and recognition regionally and internationally through strategic partnerships, enrollment growth, and revenue generation initiatives. During his tenure as Vice President for Business Development and Innovation at UVI, Dr. Davies successfully created new income generation opportunities through targeted program expansion, sustainability, and strategic partnerships. He established the UVI Institute for Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness (ILOE), developed the UVI Strategic Plan, and played a key role in achieving the Carnegie Elective Community Engagement Classification for UVI. Dr. Davies' extensive experience includes serving as Associate Vice President at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College and Executive Assistant to the President at the University of the Southern Caribbean. He has also led strategic planning, accreditation, and institutional effectiveness initiatives and played a pivotal role in various economic impact studies and program prioritization studies.
