Baron D. Harper, M.D.

Baron D. Harper, M.D. is a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon by the American Board of Thoracic Surgeons in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery who also obtained full licensure in Jamaica W.I. via The Medical Council of Jamaica. Dr. Harper’s board certification qualifies him to perform coronary bypass; complex valve repairs and replacement; ascending and descending thoracic aortic surgery; electrophysiologic surgery – including the Cox-Maze procedure for atrial fibrillation; and angina pain control operations with Trans Myocardial Laser Revascularization. Baron has served on the board of directors of the Bambu Fund LLC since 2015.

As a partner of Physicians Network Medical Group, Inc., Dr. Harper practices at Adventist + Rideout Memorial Hospital in Marysville, Calif. where he is Medical Director of Cardiothoracic Surgery and completed his tenure as Chairman of the Department of Surgery. With more than 20 years of experience in both cardiac surgery and thoracic surgery, Dr. Harper also performs resection of lung tumors and utilizes minimally invasive techniques such as Video Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery. A member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, Dr. Harper has done research in lung transplantation and has coauthored several lung research articles.

Baron received his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Mo. after earning an undergraduate degree in chemistry from Tufts University in Medford, Mass. In addition to his passion for medicine, he has a keen interest in investing and aspires to retire into that realm. Baron especially enjoys the equity and futures markets and participating in real estate opportunities.
