Apurwa Pokhrel, M.B.A.

Apurwa Pokhrel is a vice president in the Leveraged Finance group at TD Securities based in the New York office advising mid-to-large companies in various industries on financing alternatives and capital raising in the institutional loan and high yield markets. He primarily focuses on companies in the media, technology, communications, and paper and packaging sectors, including a particular focus with private equity owned companies. He has been involved in over $35 billion of capital raises and financing transactions. Additionally, Apurwa holds Series 7, Series 63 and Series 79 licenses. He has served as an advisor of the Bambu Fund LLC since 2015.

Prior to his current role, he spent three years in Corporate and Investment Banking at Truist in their Chicago office advising companies in various industries on debt financing and corporate loans. Apurwa started his career in investment banking in the Food, Consumer and Retail group at BMO Capital Markets, where he worked on a variety of debt, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and equity transactions.

Apurwa earned his M.B.A. with Distinction from the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y. and was awarded a Fried Fellowship. Mr. Pokhrel also graduated with Distinction and Honors from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa with a double major in Finance and Accounting. He is an avid investor and has invested across a variety of asset classes including debt, equities, real estate and start-ups. Outside of his professional life, Apurwa is actively involved in the community and has volunteered for several organizations, such as Minds Matter, a nonprofit dedicated to getting low-income high achieving students into four-year universities.
